Hello,
1 – Get access to the hard drive files: Use a windows installation disk and run on recovery tools the command prompt (or something like that)
2 – Go to windows folder (usually d:\windows\system32) and replace (backup first) “utilman.exe” with “cmd.exe”
3 – Boot windows normally and on the logon screen hit the “accessibility button” (on the bottom left corner) and the command prompt should appear
4 – Use the net command: “net [username] [newpassword]” and voila! Now you can login with the new password.
Notes:
The “net username” might not coincide with the “displayed username”, to check the real username go to the users (“c:\users”) folder check the directories names (run “dir /b”)
With command access you can run any other tool that you want, like task manager, explorer, etc…
This might work with other windows versions…
